Vintage English 2pc Cut Crystal Hurricane Lamp Possibly Stuart EXCELLENT pre owned condition!!
BOTH PIECES ARE FREE OF CHIPS AND CRACKS!!
The bottom of the base has some scuffs and scratches commensurate with age. The silverplate components show minimal, typical wear and have aged gracefully with the rest of this piece. There is NO candlewax or residue present.
This piece comes from an estate of a long time fine crystal collector, who collected primarily English crystal but also Irish crystal. She had dozens upon dozens of Stuart crystal stems, tons of Tudor crystal, as well as some Heritage Irish and Waterford among other extremely fine yet unmarked crystal. I cannot find an acid stamp or existing literature to confirm, I am 90% positive this piece is Stuart crystal. It even closely resembles other confirmed Stuart Hurricane lamps with records online. The cuts from the base to the very top are quite brilliant and are in line with those of Stuart.
You will NOT be disappointed in this piece. I am sure it will become one of your favorites!
Fully assembled, the piece measures 10 ¾" tall. 4 ⅜" diameter at the top of the shade. The piece is meant to accommodate a taper candle.
